For May’s Open Demo Event, HGA is proud to invite artist, Jacob Moody, to our studio! Moody is a Kentucky native and alumni from the Centre College where he studied under renowned glass artist, Stephen Rolfe Powell. While in college, Jacob performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and spent a semester studying in Florence, Italy. During his freshmen year, he took a break to work for the Forestry Department and reflect on his path forward. When he returned, his advisor enrolled him in his first glassblowing class - an unexpected shift that changed his life drastically.

Under Stephen’s mentorship, Jacob found his calling as a glass artist. He thrived in the intensity of hot shop and quickly discovered a passion for sharing the craft with others. Jacob is currently the head artist and co-owner of Fire and Fern Studio with his wife and fellow glassblower, Laruen Moody, located in Berea, KY. Their partnership grew through a shared love of creative expression, community, the outdoors… and making a lot of glass pumpkins!

Join us for a live glassblowing demonstration @ 6-9 PM where our hot shop team will assist Moody in making 1-2 sculptural pieces in front of a live audience! Snack and beverages are provided with no reservation or ticket necessary for entry.
