February’s Open Demo Event is excited to feature artist, Aaron Baigelman! Baigelman is a glassblowing artist based out of Lake Forest, Illinois. He began working with glass at the age of eleven at Bucks Rock Camp in New Milford, Connecticut—an experience that sparked a lifelong dedication to the material. Since then, glass has remained both his medium and language, offering endless opportunities for exploration, problem-solving, and growth. Baigleman has studied at leading glass institutions including Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Craft, and the Corning Museum of Glass, and has completed a three-year residency at The EnergyXchange in North Carolina.
His work is driven by a constant push toward scale, precision, and innovative design, often exploring the balance between control and risk inherent to hot glass. “I am deeply engaged in the communal nature of glassmaking and value the exchange of knowledge that happens through shared studio time, demonstrations, and collaborative problem-solving. Whether working independently or alongside others, I see the studio as a dynamic environment where ideas are tested in real time and craftsmanship evolves through dialogue and repetition.”
On February 20th, join us for a live glassblowing demonstration @ 6-9 PM where our hot shop team will assist Baigleman in making 1-2 sculptural pieces in front of a live audience! Snack and beverages are provided with no reservation or ticket necessary for entry.
