The NoDa Beacon

This incredible project has been months in the making so we are excited to announce its installment in the NoDa district of Charlotte. The “NoDa Beacon” is the largest hand blown outdoor glass sculpture in the city of Charlotte and our first public art installation in this area!

The NoDa Beacon is proudly displayed adjacent to Alloy Townhomes located on 36th St. Charlotte’s district of NoDa is near and dear to us, as Hot Glass Alley first opened here in 2018. We are proud to be a part of this area known for its creative expression and to have our work available for public viewing.

Charlotte’s Arts District

The NoDa Beacon is made of 300 individual hand-blown glass pieces. The glass form is four feet tall from point to point, and stands at a height of 6 feet, measuring from the ground up. This piece is estimated to be around 400lbs. The structure to support the sculpture is hand-welded from steel to ensure that the weight of the piece is displaced safely and securely. The work was designed by Jake Pfeifer.
